Grupo de Astrofísica Teórica e Computacional

GATC — Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics Group — develops and applies quantitative techniques for the processing, modeling, and analysis of astronomical data, with emphasis on galaxy images and spectra. Our goal is to transform complex observational data into measurable physical and structural parameters through morphometry, brightness-profile modeling, structural decomposition, dimensionality reduction, machine learning, source detection and extraction, and the study of the connection between morphology, environment, and galaxy evolution.
